The varieties listed here produce large cluster-flowers in abundance for 60 days or more during summer! Crape Myrtles are extremely drought tolerant however, will also tolerate damp soils. The 'Fauriei Hybrid' cultivars are highly resistant to powdery mildew and many of them have won the Georgia Gold Medal Award. Crape Myrtles are very easy to grow as they adapt well to a range of soils and require little maintenance other than fertilization and pruning once a year, though pruning is not necessary.
