Black Beauty Elderberry
‘Sambucus
nigra,’ produces fragrant pink flowers,
which are grouped in masses of more than
ten inches across that virtually cover the
plants in summer. Its intense, purple-black
foliage will provide season long interest
and wonderful color. This Proven Winners
selection produces dark purple berries in
late summer. The berries are a favorite

Peacock Butterfly Bush
‘Buddleia
Peacock,’ is a new dwarf introduction
that will not overcrowd its neighbors in
any garden. This Proven Winners selection
is less than half the size of most other
butterfly bush varieties, growing to about
4' in height. Its colorful flowers will
still attract butterflies and hummingbirds,
despite the smaller stature of the plant.
The pink flowers are large and emit the
delightful fragrance that has come to be
associated with Butterfly Bushes. This variety
can also be grown as a container plant.

‘Syringa
patula’ is thought by many to

Spice Bush
The
Spicebush, Lindera bezoin, is a native
deciduous shrub with a broad, rounded
habit which typically grows 6-12' high.

The
Snowmound Spirea is an excellent dwarf

Little Fingers Eggplant
The
Eggplant Little Fingers, ‘Solanum
melongena,’ has many slim
and long, dark purple fruits six
to eight inches in length. These
fruits can even be harvested when
they are no longer than your little
finger, which makes Little Fingers
a unique form of eggplant. If left
on the plant for a longer period
of time, the sweet, mild taste will
be unaffected. The fruits will not
set, however, if nighttime temperatures
drop below sixty degrees. Eggplants
prefer rich, deep and loose soils

Chocolate Beauty Sweet Bell Peppers
The
Sweet Bell Pepper Chocolate Beauty,
‘Capsicum annuum,’ produces
sweet, non-pungent fruits that are a

are medium large and smooth, with three
to four lobes and mature from green
to a chocolate color. The plants are
tobacco mosaic resistant. An incredibly

The
Rhubarb Victoria, ‘Rheum rhaberbarum,’
is a very hardy variety of rhubarb.
The Victoria rhubarb is the perfect
selection for making rhubarb pie.
This spring planted herbaceous root
is a fantastic grower that will
produce large, bright red stalks.
Like all varieties of rhubarb, harvesting
of the stalks should not start until
the third year of growth. At this
time, the plants will be established
well and can withstand harvest.
