You may seed or overseed Fescue
lawns at this time. There are several
types of fescue available for seeding
lawns. RTF Advantage Fescue
is a brand new generation of spreading
turf-type fescue that has shown
to self-repair reducing the need
of over-seeding. Extensive studies
have shown RTF Advantage Fescue
to be heat and drought tolerant
as well as disease and insect resistant.
Other turf-type fescues and Ky 31
fescue are also available, though
Ky 31 is best suited for use in
pastures. To determine amount of
seed necessary for adequate coverage
measure the length by the width
of your lawn area(s) to find total
square footage. Fertilize newly
seeded Fescue lawns with Pennington’s
18-24-6 Starter Fertilizer. Apply
pelletized lime at the rate suggested
below. It is best to braodcast seed,
fertilizer, and lime with a rotary-type
walk behind or shoulder spreader.

Apply pelletized lime at this time
to fescue, Bermuda, and zoysia lawns.
If
you have never applied lime to your
lawn a one-time application of 40
lbs per 500 -1,000 square feet usually
corrects soil ph to a level sufficient
for these grasses to thrive and
fertilizers activate. Make sure
to use pellitized
lime as it activates instantly.

for adequate coverage measure and
multiply the length by the width
of your lawn area(s) to find total
